Jane graduated in 1984 from Ontario Collage of Art & Design in Toronto Ontario where she majored in textile design. Today she concentrates solely on painting. She instinctively remains true to her early training as a weaver where she learned that her palette of yarns could combine layers of colour and texture to create a rich material. Her intent is to achieve this level of craftsmanship with her approach to painting. Her imagery is a gentle nod to nature while her palette is still weaving; only now it is weaving with paint. Through many layers of paint she builds up her surfaces before she begins to reconstruct them. This process allows her to explore something that was never lost but always there within the painting.
